Leadership Tips from a Successful First Time Manager with Moe Riyami

In this weeks episode of the In the Lead Show, I have a conversation with Moe Riyami, Manager, Learning and Development. Moe recently made the transition to becoming a manager in a large Fortune 100 company and used skills he has picked up throughout his life to lead various teams. Moe shares insights, lessons and tips on how to be a leader as a first time manager. Tapping into his experience being a leader on the soccer field, Moe says if the team isn’t winning, no one is.

A United States immigrant born in Dubai with a passion for traveling, Mohammed Riyami, known by friends and colleagues as Moe, has a passion for exploring and discovering different perspectives on life. Moe spent the beginning of his college career traveling Europe. Coming home to be closer to family, Moe graduated from North Carolina State University and shortly after began his career at Cisco as an intern. Today, Moe leads a team in Learning and Development. Pulling in his years of experience in team building, Moe takes pride in creating a team environment that is built on trust and respect. When Moe is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and young son. Inspired to create a legacy his son can look up to, Moe believes that being a true leader requires compassion, understanding and trust.
